Frequently asked questions

Where are Yellow Label Organics™ products made?

All of our products are made in Canada using Canadian suppliers.

Are your products 100% all natural?

Yellow Label Organics™ products are 100% naturally sourced

I've never used oil-based products before. Is there a transition period I should be aware of?

Most people will experience an adjustment period when transitioning from one skincare product/line to another, regardless of the brand. If you haven't used oil-based products in the past your skin may need time some time to adjust. We recommend slowly working your way into regular use of our products. If you wash your face daily, for example, try switching in Yellow Label Organics twice per week to start, then, gradually work your way up to your regular routine. This will give your skin microbiome time to adjust to its new caregiver. If you have used or are using oil-based products you probably won't experience any transitional changes, but, it's still incredibly important that you gently exfoliate once or twice per week for best results. When transitioning to an all-natural product line we recommend giving yourself a minimum of 4-6 weeks before your skin finds its own natural balance and settles in.

Do your products expire?

All of our products are 100% natural and we don't use any synthetic preservatives. Please use all lotions and cleansers within 3 months of purchase and stir/shake before each use. Yellow Label Organics™ toner, exfoliants, and bar soaps have a much longer shelf life. Please use these products within 6 months of first use and stir/shake before each use.

Are your products tested on animals?

We never test our products on animals and all of our ingredients are ethically sourced.

Do I need a lotion scoop?

Never put your fingers into your lotion jar. If we want to maintain healthy skin we need to keep harmful bacteria off of our face, and our hands are filthy. When you dip your finger inside of your product container you are introducing bacteria into that container that can remain and continue to thrive until your next use. Use a reuseable lotion scoop for all your lotions and exfoliates.

Should I exfoliate my skin?

Yellow Label Organics™ products are designed to nourish your skin with all of the natural ingredients you need to maintain a healthy, gentle balance. Our premium ingredients are selected based on their antioxidant, antibacterial, vitamin, and mineral availability. Our products are balanced to help you restore, hydrate, and protect. Our all-natural products are not abrasive and do not contain any acids or alcohols, so it's up to you to assist. You should exfoliate your skin to prevent dead skin cells from clogging your pores. Choose a gentle exfoliator for your body and face and use it based on the manufacturer's recommendations for the best results possible.

Should I do a patch test?

Yes, you should always do a patch test when using any new product. How to do a Patch Test Find an area of your skin that, for the most part, can be left alone for 24 hours. The inside of the elbow works great for patch tests. Clean the area as much as possible with a cleanser you are familiar with. Apply a small amount of the product with clean hands to your test area and cover the test area with a bandaid. Wait 24 hours. If no irritation occurs, you can safely use this product. If you experience itching, burning, or any other sort of unpleasant sensation during this 24 hour period remove the bandaid and wash the affected area right away. Seek medical attention if required.

Do you use plastic or glass packaging?

We're proud of the commitment we've made to you and to the planet - and we take that commitment seriously. When you receive your delivery it will be in a 100% compostable and biodegradable mailer. The products inside that mailer are packaged in biodegradable burlap and muslin bags. We are currently phasing out all plastic items from our product packaging and we expect to offer 100% glass and aluminum packaging by June 1, 2021.
